Prologue

AN OPEN BOOK ON LAVAUX

The sun caresses the tiles of the buildings of this medieval village. An enchanting landscape emerges suddenly reflected in Lake Léman so close. Through the window of the Inn, from this room tucked under the eaves of Cully, a breathtaking view opens on Lavaux . Terraced vineyards as spectacular as the rice fields of the Philippine Cordilleras, these visions transcend time and space. They touch the soul and bring back to the basics. Charles-Ferdinand Ramuz expressed it in these words: «There is no more solitude where poetry lives.»
